The drug addiction within this community is rife which prompted us to start a rehab programme which to date is extremely successful. We house the addicts of their own free will, on the premises ( currently space for 50) and the church provides their meals, gas for cooking, water, cleaning materials and toiletries. The house has a “house mother and father” who run the establishment – chores, cooking, washing, etc. The Pastor gives a Bible teaching every morning, Monday to Friday, in the church building after which brunch is sponsored. The people help with the garden maintenance and cleaning of the church thereafter. Although they are confined to the church premises, they are free to leave the programme at any time. Strict rules have been put in place for their safety and well being. We believe in forming a “family type bond” within the house and have found that they tend to support each other.
Food, toiletries, finances, furniture and equipment are always in great need.
